Land Acknowledgement

The Alberta Association for Multicultural Education acknowledges all sacred land within Treaty 7, including Blackfoot Confederacy's traditional territories; Siksika, Piikani and Kainai Nations; the Stoney-Nakoda, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley Nations; and the Tsuut'ina First Nation.

We honour the land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River: The traditional Blackfoot name for this sacred place is Moh'kins'tsis (The City of Calgary), the ancestral homeland to the historic Northwest Métis and Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
